THE ELCO CORPORATION of Denison Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio, have recently carried out some very exhaustive tests to demonstrate the suitability of multipurpose gear lubricants compounded with their Elco 11 additive in worm gear axles and transmissions under normal and severe operating conditions. Selection of worm axles and use of the lubricant in transmissions of the vehicles concerned were based on excellent results with hypoid and spiral bevel axle gears in earlier tests.
