In our issue of August, 1950, we gave details of the practical applications of oil retaining bearings and discussed the properties and industrial applications of “ Compo ” porous bearings which are manufactured by Bound Brook Bearings, Ltd., Lichfield. We then stated that a section of this company's new factory at Lichfield was being entirely devoted to research and development matters. We are pleased to state that we are now privileged to give details of some of the equipment that has been installed for this work and the results achieved.
