The growing environmental concern continues to put an increasing pressure on lead based paint driers. This development has consequently intensified the search for non‐toxic substitutes, exhibiting similar drying properties. Out of a limited number of alternatives, zirconium has developed to be the most prominent choice — but nevertheless, burdened with insufficient universal performance.
