THE opening this month of the A.R.A. establishment at Bedford, which is described in this issue, is the culmination of the first step which the British aircraft industry has taken in the way of a pooling of resources for a co‐operative effort. Many people have been urging such co‐operation for a long time, but an industry which has grown up in an atmosphere of competition between individualists does not take naturally to such a way of working.
