This article gives an indication of salaries on recruitment, during training and on qualification for some of the main public sector employment areas. Terms and conditions of employment vary in different parts of the public sector, and are also liable to alteration in accordance with national pay awards which are negotiated separately for each branch of the public sector. If you are interested in employment in a public sector body which is not mentioned in this appendix, it is suggested that you approach them direct for details of starting salaries.
