Condensation which occurs on the cold surface of the large window area of the Cloch Point Lighthouse on the Firth of Clyde has probably been a problem since it first started operating in 1797. It is a potentially serious problem as the light has to be seen at maximum brightness by the passing ships, and not through misted windows.
