Ferromagnetic stability and density of states

Abstract

We discuss a simple criterion to recognize the possible appearance of ferromagnetism within the scope of the Stoner model. This criterion is based just on the features of the paramagnetic density of states and helps to understand magnetic phase diagrams and to predict ferromagnetic behavior.
