INTRODUCTIONThis protocol describes fixation of embryos and tissues of the short-tailed fruit bat C. perspicillata. The fixed embryos can be stored at −20°C for prolonged periods and can be used for whole-mount in situ hybridization, whole-mount immunohistochemistry, or for embedding and sectioning in paraffin or frozen blocks for a variety of histological procedures.
