Abstract

Volume I Part 1 Basic consideration of pain - introduction fundamental considerations basic aspects clinical aspects. Part 2 consideration of relatively generalized pain syndromes - introduction: acute and chronic pain syndromes (CPS) of primarily neuropathic pain chronic pain syndromes of psychologic/psychosocial origin pain primarily of musculoskeletal origin (disorders of muscles, bones and joints) cancer pain pain of other etiologies. Part 3 Evaluation of the patient with pain - introduction. Part 4 Regional pains - introduction: pain in the head pain in the neck, shoulder, and upper extremities. Volume II pain in the chest abdominal pain pain in the pelvis, perineum, and genitalia pain in the low back, hips, and lower extremities. Part 5 Methods, procedures, and techniques for the symptomatic control of pain - introduction: pharmacologic therapy psychologic and psychosocial techniques physical therapeutic modalities electric stimulation (neuroaugmentative techniques) regional analgesia ablative neurosurgical operations interdisciplinary, multimodal pain management programmes.
