A numerical simulation is presented of a relativistic jet. Owing to the similar mathematical form of the equations of steady relativistic gas dynamics and steady non-relativistic gas dynamics, the numerical method used to make this calculation can be used to model either type of jet flow. On the basis of simplifying assumptions, the synchrotron emission from the jet is estimated for different viewing angles between it and an observer's line-of-sight.

| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 21 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Top 10% | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
