A single meal or injection of sodium fluoroacetate, an inhibitor of the tricarboxylic acid cycle, decreased braconid egg production for the subsequent life of the female. However, low hatchability characterized only the eggs laid on the 1st few days post-treatment. Microscopic examination of dissected ovarioles revealed inadequate vitellogenesis of the larger oocytes in treated wasps.
