Codling Moth Control with Carbofuran

Abstract

Field trials were conducted over a 3-year period in northern California to determine the efficacy of carbofuran for control of Carpocapsa pomonella (L.). The 3 major agricultural host crops, apples, pears, and walnuts, Were utilized in the test program. Dosages varying from 0.125 to 0.5 lb active/100 gal, applied in a 3-cover-spray schedule, provided excellent control as measured by the reduction of larval entries in the harvested fruit or nuts.
