Johnston and Blakeslee (1961) indicated that the World Health Organization test procedures for determining the susceptibility or resistance of adult mosquitoes to insecticides was highly satisfactory for testing adult stable flies, Stomoxys calcitrans (L.). A WHO tsetse fly resistance kit, which provided the same materials as those in the adult mosquito kit was used in this study.
