Preliminary tests of several materials for codling moth banding are here reported. The results indicate that corrugated paper may have a practical value as a banding material, and that tarred paper, corrugated paper, and a tough crepe paper appear to be more effective than burlap. There is need of further tests of different materials, as well as a study of the reactions and behavior of the mature larvae while in search of cocooning quarters.
