Abstract

Summary: Backtrack programming is a technique which has been built into a number of languages, either by defining new primitives or by extension, for the solution of problems of a combinatorial nature. An extension of SIMULA is described, from the user's point of view, which allows all the existing features but also includes facilities for backtrack programming.
