Abstract A method is presented for identification and quantitation of abnormal hemoglobins. Electrophoretic fractionation with cellulose acetate is followed by elution of each fraction into Drabkin's solution. In the presence of Drabkin's solution hemoglobin is converted to cyanmethemoglobin and measured in any standard photometer at 540 mµ.
