Human leucocyte antigen (HLA) testing can be carried out to identify patients who are at risk of severe cutaneous reactions to carbamazepine. This article asks the question of readers: if positive, which of the HLA alleles would suggest a risk of drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS) with carbamazepine use?
