Abstract Plots were established at the Washington State University Animal Science Farm in Pullman, WA. Treated and untreated seed were planted on 19 May with a small plot drill at a seeding rate of 6 lb/acre in 7 rows, 6 inches apart. The late seeding date insured an even distribution of flea beetle adults. Plots were 4 X 20 ft, replicated 5 times and were arranged in a RCBD. After cultivation and harrowing, the plots were rototilled twice and fertilized (100 lb 20-0-0-14 (NPKS)/acre) on 13 May. Seed treatments were evaluated by counting the number of adult flea beetles present on 20 randomly selected plants in the middle 3 rows. These plants were numerically ranked from 0-5 based on percent damaged surface area of cotyledons.
