Three types of life cycles that occur in this group are discussed and diagrammed. The “simple” type, involving only 1 type of female, is exemplified by Vasates cercidis Hall; the second or “complex” type, involving protogynes and deutogynes, by Oxypleurites aesculifoliae (Keifer) and a third type, in which protogynes may be ovoviviparous, by V. quadripedes Shimer.
