Abstract

Also, the sun itself moves not otherwise than from west to east, and being permitted to accomplish its recession more slowly than the moon (indeed, it measures off one sign in the same time that the moon ranges the whole zodiac), its motion offers the following obvious proofs to the eyes. Let us, then, place it (the sun) in Aries, which, being the equinoctial sign, causes equal hours of day and night.4
