Abstract

Saltcedar (Tamarix pentandra Pall.) roots, characterized by polyarch primary xylem, produced adventitious shoots that originated endogenously near the vascular cambium. Root cuttings, buried vertically and horizontally on a mist-bed, produced adventitious shoots at rates of 21% and 8%, respectively
