1. In the pistillate flower of Myristica fragrans Von Houtt. the stele of the pedicel, after giving rise to the vascular traces to the bracteoles and perianth, continues into the gynophore and then into the wall of the gynoecium, where it gives rise to branches both to the periphery and, at a higher level, to the center. 2. The bundles of the inner ring bend downward, and some of them fuse to form the vascular supply to the ovule. 3. No distinct dorsal and ventral bundles are recognizable. 4. There is no evidence for regarding the gynoecium as bicarpellary.
