We present results from spectroscopic observations of K giants in two fields towards the Galactic bulge. The mean Galactocentric velocity and velocity dispersion for a field at l, b=(8,7) are =45±10 km s −1 and σ=85±7 km s −1 . For a field at l, b=(12,3) we find =77±9 km s −1 and σ=68±6 km s −1 . The bulge of the Galaxy is found to be rotating, and its velocity dispersion decreases with increasing Galactocentric distance
