Results are presented of a proper motion survey of known faint high-latitude C stars using plates spanning a 30-yr baseline that reveals at least one additional new dwarf C star and also confirms the utility of the proposed luminosity indicators. Kinematic simulations suggest that to a limit of V of about 18, at least 10 percent of faint high-latitude C stars are dwarfs. The local space density of dwarf C stars may thus substantially exceed that of luminous C stars.
| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 30 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Top 10% | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
