Evolution of two encountering planetesimals in the solar gravitational field have been simulated using a three-dimensional smoothed particle hydrodynamics code, in order to obtain the precise coalescence probability including the effects of tidal forces and shock compression on two-body interaction, one of the elementary processes in planetary accumulation. The tidal forces are considered to be important because they may enlarge the coalescence rate of planetesimals effectively
| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 4 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
