A search for dark nebulae on a set of Schmidt telescope plates of the Small Magellanic Cloud has resulted in a catalog of 45 objects, ranging from 1' to 6' in major dimension. The average size is 42 pc, and the average extinction, a few tenths of a magnitude. They are generally about half the size of those found in a similar survey of the Large Magellanic Cloud. Key words: dark nebulae - Small Magellanic Cloud
