At least ten of the known UV Ceti-type flare stars in the solar neighborhood have old disk space motions. Five others have large space motions and are probably also members of the old disk population. The existence of flare stars with old disk space motions and also the existence of some flare stars below the main sequence complicates the picture of these stars as a premain-sequence evolutionary stage.
