Abstract This study was made to discover what aftereffect music had on pulse rates and work output of short duration. Pulse rates and bicycle ergometer riding times of 15 subjects were measured after three experimental conditions: fast music, slow music, and no music. Statistical procedures, using the analysis of variance, indicated no significant difference among the effects of the three experimental conditions on the measured variables.
