
This article gives a brief overview of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its applications to Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). The author defines AI as being a combination of technologies, including knowledge- based expert systems, natural language processing artificial neural networks, fuzzy systems, genetic algorithms learning systems, virtual reality, neuro fuzzy systems, and neuro expert systems.
