Abstract

The electrocardiogram or vectorcardiogram often indicates features compatible with left ventricular hypertrophy in persons who do not have the condition. Increased QRS voltage, increased QRS duration, and ST-T changes in an isolated electrocardiogram or vectorcardiogram may mislead the physician, but serial records noting progressive changes appreciably improve the accuracy of diagnosis.
