AbstractThis chapter investigates environmental management in tourism, hospitality and events (THE) facilities. It recognizes the essential requirement for facilities to incorporate environmental management practices in light of global demographic and infrastructural pressures. The chapter notes the challenges for THE facilities in embedding environmental practices. This includes the individualistic, fragmented and relatively small-sized composition of facilities in the THE industries. Financial pressures and consumer sensitivity towards balancing environmental concerns with service quality further compound this issue. The chapter notes the continuous need to enlighten facility managers, operators, developers and users of the benefits and consequences of engaging in environmental management practices.
