At a constant temperature of 18ºC, exposure of Tricholioproctia impatiens to varied daily photophases resulted in a typical long-day response of diapause induction. A critical daily photophase of 13 h marked the transition between diapause induction and continuous development. At 25ºC diapause was supressed with no apparent critical photophase. Diapause occurred at 106 h at 18ºC and 48 h at 25ºC following pupariation.
