The genus Hyphesma Michener, 1965, is revised. Seven species are recognized including five which are described as new: H, cardaleae, H. cooba, H. barvowensis, H. federalis and H. nukarnensis. The following are considered to be synonyms of H. atromicans (Cockerell): H. barbata (Cockerell), H. oleaviae (Rayment), H. elthamensis (Rayment) and Pachyprosopis celmisiae Rayment. Keys and line drawings that enable the separation of all known species are presented. Information on nest structure of H. atromicans is given.
