New Water Mites (Hydrachnellae : Acari) from Australia

Abstract

Eight new species, five new genera and one new family of water mites from Australia are described: Tubophorella amoena, sp, nov. (Limnesiidae), Omartacarus australicus, sp, nov. (Omartacaridae), Australiobates mutatus, sp. nov. (Hygrobatidae), Kallimobates australicus, gen. et sp. nov. (Hygro- batidae), Caenobates acheronius, gen. et sp. nov. (Hygrobatidae), Australorivacarus multiscutatus gen. et sp, nov. (Hygrobatidae), Austraturus tumidipalpis, gen, et sp. nov. (Aturidae), Gretacarus australicus, gen. et sp. nov. (Gretacaridae, fam. nov.).
