The dentitions of Victoria's currently recognised subspecies of Antechinus (A. stuartii stuartii, A. flavipes flavipes, A . minimus maritimus and A. swainsonii mimetes) are described and illustrated. Subspecies from other states compared are: A. stuartii adustus, A . f!avipes leucogaster, A. minimus minimus and A. swainsonii swainsonii. All species were clearly distinct on the basis of dental morphology. Of the subspecies examined, all except A. flavipes flavipes and A. f!avipes leucogaster were found to differ dentally.
