Thermoregulation in the Parma wallaby, Macropus parma (Marsupialia: Macropodidae).

Abstract

Prevention of fur licking has no effect on the respiration rates and body temperatures of parma wallabies. Sweating occurs only on the foot pads and hence it is suggested that panting is the principal means of evaporative cooling in this species.
