We present preliminary results of a study of BATSE spectra of gamma‐ray bursts (GRBs). Our ultimate aim is to investigate short‐duration as well as long‐duration GRBs and to focus the analysis on possible similarities and differences between the two populations. We present here spectral properties obtained from both time‐integrated counts and from time‐variable counts for a subset of long‐duration GRBs. A study of trends in the ‘‘color‐color’’ diagrams and/or in ‘‘color‐intensity’’ diagrams is of crucial importance for modeling the emission mechanisms of GRBs.
