Beam-beam interaction simulations of the SSC

Abstract

The beam‐beam interaction at the collision point is studied using the particle‐in cell method for the Superconducting Super Collider (SSC). This model consists of the symplectic map of the magnets that lie between collision points and the self‐consistent treatment of the interactions of many particles at the collision point. Beam dynamics is surveyed, including the tune dependence and diffusion coefficient.
