In the paper various approaches to parallelization of the alternating‐direction implicit (ADI) method are discussed and a new communication scheme is considered. This scheme couples processors to make communication between processors independent of the other processors. The communication schemes used as a core of the parallel ADI method are studied on various parallel machines and clusters of computers.
