Our work focuses on the effects of Resonant Magnetic Perturbations (RMPs) on ELM stabilization, since recent experiments [T. Evans et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 92, 235003 (2004), Y. Liang et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 98, 265004 (2007), K. Finken et al., Nucl. Fusion 47, 522–534 (2007)] demonstrated that the RMP control technique is very promising whereas much of the physics remains to be understood. We present the results of microturbulence simulations with a transport barrier showing the stabilization effect of RMPs on barrier relaxations, and giving insight on the physical mecanisms at play.
