The results of buckling tests on 41 small-scale ring stiffened steel cylinders and one large radius fabricated ring stiffened steel cylinder under axial compression are presented. These results are compared with those of many other investigators on both stiffened and unstiffened cylinders. Elastic buckling coefficients are determined for both small scale and fabricated cylinders. A plasticity factor is determined from test data on cylinders which failed inelastically. Design equations are recommended for fabricated metal cylinders.
| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 15 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Top 10% | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Top 10% | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
