IT IS MY HONOR and privilege to serve as your ASPAN President for 2003-2004. This great organization could not exist without each and every member. Every perianesthesia nurse delivering care each day, from preparation before surgery, through recovery from anesthesia, to discharge home, is critical to ASPAN’s circle of influence. You are the one influencing the safe delivery of expert care that guides the patient through the ordeal of surgery and assuring that the right things are being done at the right time to achieve the patient’s expected state of wellbeing. You are the reason ASPAN is the premiere Society representing perianesthesia nursing. You are ASPAN’s outreaching circle of influence, as well as the reason our Society is able to influence care delivery across our country.
