
L’effet de lentille gravitationnelle, responsable de la deflexion des rayons lumineux par la matiere, engendre des effets de deformation apparente des objets celestes : le cisaillement gravitationnel. Les deformations des galaxies nous revelent la distribution de la matiere projetee sur le ciel. Les cosmologistes savent aujourd’hui exploiter les caracteristiques de ces phenomenes pour reconstruire celles de l’univers et determiner ainsi son contenu en matiere noire et en energie sombre.
