
Cet article traite de l’action des micro-organismes presents dans une eau douce naturelle sur des pâtes de ciment de differentes natures. Les analyses de surface montrent que la densite bacterienne (flores bacteriennes generale et sulfato-reductrice cultivables) des biofilms recouvrant les echantillons depend peu de la nuance cimentaire ou de la porosite accessible a l’eau des echantillons. Toutefois, les ciments au calcaire presentent un comportement different. Les observations au MEB ont revele sur l’ensemble des echantillons la presence abondante de diatomees souvent recouvertes d’un encroutement mineral. Les frustules de ces micro-algues sont donc susceptibles de reagir avec certains hydrates des ciments, en raison de leur nature siliceuse amorphe et initier la formation de l’encroutement.
