FOURIER ANALYSIS OF HYSTERETIC DAMPING MECHANISMS

Abstract

A Fourier analysis of Granato-Lücke breakaway predicts amplitudes of acoustic harmonics that are comparable in order of magnitude to those observed in iron. A similar analysis of Rayleigh-law hysteresis brings out the essential differences between these two examples of hysteresis.
