The study describes a small antenna with a hybrid loop‐notch configuration. This format has very small dimensions in terms of the operating wavelength and operation is possible over two or more non‐contiguous frequency bands. When integrated into a host circuit board it can be designed to maintain a substantially constant resonant frequency in the presence of obstructions such as the human body. A number of different simple feed arrangements are described, which can be adapted to suit other implementations.
