The Digital Radio Broadcast is reviewed briefly and the gain, polarization and other electrical requirements of mobile antennas for direct satellite signal reception, or terrestrial broadcast signals is discussed. Low profile and low cost antenna candidates in the form of multifilar helices and microstrip type radiators are introduced and compared. >
