Abstract A simple memristive chaotic jerk system with one variable to represent the internal state is found. The proposed equilibria‐free memristive system yields hidden chaotic oscillation in a narrow parameter space. A circuit is constructed that models the jerk system, and it shows agreement with the predicted oscillation. The new memristive jerk system appears to be one of the algebraically simplest memristive chaotic systems.
