Abstract

The article reports on the move of scientists to take a second look at conditions of dark matter due to disappointments to discover these elusive particles known as weakly interacting massive particles (WIMP). Topics include the time spent by scientists to look for flashes of light emanating from WIMPs striking xenon nuclei, and the possibility that WIMPs are a multidecadal detour in the search for dark matter.
