Primordial Cosmic Ray Sources

Abstract

New gamma ray observations have provided what may be evidence for primordial cosmic ray sources existing out to redshifts of the order of 100. These sources may be galaxies and quasars in their initial stages of formation. They may have provided the basic energy source for ionizing the intergalactic gas.
